Vanderbilt Charter Academy is committed to academic excellence, so much that it consistently outperforms other schools in the Holland area.
Just recently, we received a letter from the State of Michigan Department of Education stating the following:
“Congratulations! A recent analysis of 2007-08 MEAP test data has shown that your charter school is achieving a unique degree of academic success. Vanderbilt Charter Academy is one of 52 charter school buildings across Michigan that achieved over 60% academic proficiency with populations made up of more than 50% free/reduced lunch students.
The extraordinary results your school has achieved give further proof to the idea that every child can learn if given the right support, environment and tools. Your school’s strategies may represent important innovations and could well be of interest to other public schools, both charter and traditional, that are working to achieve similar results. We’d like to understand what kinds of educational strategies you employ so we can help support policies and practices that will replicate your success.”
