Holland's Vanderbilt Charter Academy elementary and middle school provides a basic core curriculum and instruction in the specials areas of art, band, choir, computer, library, music, physical education and Spanish.

Co-curricular choices include athletics, robotics, spelling bee, ski club and others.

In addition, Vanderbilt welcomes many artists, parents and groups to visit the school each year with many activities.

Frequent assemblies feature individuals or groups with expertise in literature genres, music, dramatic performances, cultural practices, or with academic enrichment presentations. These opportunities are provided in cooperation with local colleges and universities, as well as with civic organizations.

Volunteers from local high schools and colleges, under the direction of the classroom teachers, provide enrichment activities. 

Competitive sports offered at the middle school level:
Girls – soccer, volleyball, basketball, cross country, and flag corp.
Boys – soccer, basketball, and cross country.

Middle school students have also the opportunity of participating in Student Government.
